French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve unveiled a plan to reintegrate children of ISIS fighters recently returned from the Middle East, AFP reported (Arabic).
The French government is trying to remove the fuse from ISIS children who’ve become ticking bombs, he said on March 25.
More than 450 children were born to French fathers who are currently fighting for Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
France believes some 750 of its citizens joined ISIS.
French counter-terrorism officials are concerned these children may follow in their fathers’ footsteps.
As a result the government created a cross-ministry project to deal with children upon their return.
France has recently come under criticism for the failure of its various deradicalization programs.
